Installation process

From First Enquiry to Finished Build — Our Installation Process Explained

1. Design

Each build is meticulously designed and engineered to exacting standards.

We offer most “off the shelf” models to be BS3632 compliant (caravan act). Contrary to what you might think, these builds actually have more timber in them than a standard UK regulations build in order to meet the criteria of a “mobile” build. See our specification.

We also build to current UK building regulations and offer a comprehensive planning service.

2. The Process

Following your inital enquiry, we’ll need to discuss your build requirements in a little more detail. At this stage, it’s also good to get an idea of the proposed siting and access too.

Next, we’ll provide you with a design proposal and quotation for your standard or bespoke build.

If you are happy with the proposal, we’ll draft some scaled 3D renderings which will help us finetune the layout to your wishes.

3. Site survey and foundations

It’s always good to put a face to the name so a site meeting and survey is essential at this stage.

This will also help us finalise any additional costs that may be incurred during construction, where utilty runs need to be routed and so on.

Next, we’ll arrange a ground test which will provide the calculations to firm up the scope of the foundation needed. i.e piling length and amounts.

Our preferred foundations are LABC approved screw pilings; on occasion the site may be unsuitable; in this case we will use the Jackpad® system or a block ring beam.

4. Planning / scheduling

After final costs have beed calculated, your order will be placed with us and, if there’s no planning to apply for we can schedule the project.

We have vast experience with local authority planning and building control for both UK regulations and LDC applications for BS3632 models. If you do require our assistance, let us handle the application for you! Our partnership with a specialised planning consultant will help us get the best outcome in areas known for being
tricky too. In our case….approval rate has been 100%.

Construction time can vary of course depending on the size of the build, but typically a 2 bedroom design would be around 8 weeks start to finish.

5. Eco

Our construction timbers are entirely from sustainable renewable, certified sources in Scandinavia.

“Cold climate” grown timbers are much more stable due to there slow growth, which means you get a build that will last.

Our timber claddings are also FSC® & PEFC® sustainably sourced in Finland, Siberia and Germany.

High U-value insulation offers maximum thermal performance.

Double glazed A rated glass units as standard.
